HANGING PROCEDURE

PRE-PASTED WALLPAPER BORDERS

1) Using a level and pencil draw a horizontal line where you wish to install the border. Borders may be installed around windows, doors, or used as a chair rail.

2) Measure the length of border required and cut to length. Allow additional length to overlap slightly in the comers.

3) Roll strip with pre-pasted side out and loosely submerge in a water tray filled with clean water just before hanging. Put the rolled strip in the tray so that when it is drawn from the water the pasted side will be up.

4) Immediately draw the strip from the water tray be lifting out the outside end and letting it unwind as it is drawn from the water. Pull strip onto a drop cloth or table, do so slowly assuring paste is completely wet. Change the water in the tray frequently to prevent the buildup of paste in the water. If installing borders over wallcoverings, use a border adhesive or vinyl-to-vinyl adhesive designed to adhere to vinyl coatings.

5) Allow "wet-time" of 3 to 5 minutes before installing the sheet. Fold the ends to center, paste side to paste side carefully aligning the edges so that they do not dry out. (Do not crease). When handling long lengths of border it is easier to fold the material in shorter, easy to handle sections accordion style.

6) Start in a comer and smooth material into position using a damp sponge, a smoothing tool, or smoothing brush. Smooth one section at a time removing all air bubbles. Avoid stretching. If bubbles develop after removing them, increasing the "wet-time" will eliminate this.

7) Immediately clean any paste from the face of the product and along woodwork with CLEAN water and a CLEAN white cloth or un-colored sponge. Change water frequently to assure it is clean. Do not allow adhesive to dry on the surface since some adhesives contain solvents that can adversely affect the produce or adhesives left un-cleaned may yellow in time. We cannot accept responsibility for this.

8) Repeat this same procedure for other strips, matching the pattern to the previous strip when cutting. When joining pieces, overlapping and double cutting makes a smooth seam.

9) The prepasted border adheres well to painted surfaces. If hanging on a high-gloss, textured surface or over wallpaper choose an adhesive recommended by your local hardware store such as GH-75 Border Adhesive.

CARE AND MAINTENANCE I HELPFUL HINTS

These wallcoverings are scrubbable. Most common soils, grease, and stains can be removed by washing with soap or a mild detergent and water. Fresh grease stains can normally be removed by wiping it off immediately with an absorbent paper towel. For best results, all marks should be removed promptly.
